White Wall Cinema: VHS FEST -LABYRINTH

Join us for VHS Fest, a special three night film festival celebrating films that represent the classic era of VHS video. Each night you can take a stroll through our life size VHS rental store, indulge in some retro gaming, have a drink in our beer garden (with our VHS era playlist) and then enjoy a cult classic film from the era on the big screen. Tickets for individual nights are available as well as a discounted festival ticket for all three nights.

In 1986, Muppets creator Jim Henson combined with Star Wars creator George Lucas to create one of the most beloved cult classics of all time. Labyrinth is a deliciously dark fairy tale that is indelibly etched into the minds of an entire generation of cinema goers (and VHS owners).

Incredibly inventive, brilliantly staged and a testament to the boundless imagination and creativity of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Originally set up by Henson and illustrator / conceptual designer Brian Froud to create The Dark Crystal, the shop’s brilliance in bringing to life the world of Labyrinth is only matched by the hilarious script by Monty Python’s Terry Jones (which was also worked on by the great Elaine May) as well as a young star-making performance by future Oscar winner Jennifer Connolly.
