White Wall Cinema Presents – SOLARIS

30th June 2022 @ 7:50 pm 10:00 pm

Part of a long tradition of existential sci fi movies that includes the likes of Moon, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, Ad Astra, Silent Running and Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. This underappreciated 2002 remake of Tarkovsky’s 70s sci fi classic is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is ripe for reappraisal. Helmed by noted director Steven Soderbergh (Sex Lies & Videotape, Out Of Sight, Traffic, Oceans 11, Contagion, Logan Lucky) and produced by super director James Cameron (Terminator, Aliens) it’s an elegant and streamlined approach to Stanisław Lem’s novel that tackles themes of loss, identity, and reality at the edge of the universe when recently bereaved psychologist Kris Kelvin (George Clooney) is sent to investigate strange goings on at a remote space station. Also starring Natasha McElhorne and Viola Davis don’t miss this  thought provoking, tense, mesmerising, mysterious, visually breath taking film on the big screen
